FAQ - Platform
The End User Interface (UI) is compatible with any operating system that supports a modern browser, such as Google Chrome. Additionally, we offer mobile applications for both iOS and Android devices.
There is no limit to the number of cameras per group or the number of groups. A single camera can be added to multiple groups.
Multiple users can be created, each with different roles that define their levels of access. User access can be enabled or disabled without the need to delete the user from the system.
Specific users can be granted access to only a selected group of cameras. Additionally, user permissions for end-users can be customized to control the ability to save clips, with rights to grant or revoke as needed.
Multiple logs are generated to support system maintenance, billing, troubleshooting, and security.
Notifications can be delayed and accumulated for periods ranging from 5 minutes to 12 hours. This delay feature applies not only to email notifications but also to mobile push notifications on the Starllion Cloud mobile app, provided Object Detection is enabled.
Starllion Cloud supports analog cameras via a hybrid NVR connection.
Stallion Cloud mobile apps are available for both Android and iOS devices, including phones and tablets. The app can be installed from the App Store for iOS devices and downloaded from the Google Play Store or the device's native store for Android devices.
Both the User Interface and Admin Portal are fully web-based and do not require any additional software, other than a browser such as Google Chrome, to be installed.
The Starllion Cloud Web User Interface supports only H.264, as this is the format compatible with browser capabilities.

Hybrid installation options are available to meet specific needs, with tailored solutions provided to ensure optimal results.
Plug and Play Push Module Connection
Starllion Cloud offers a Push Module for seamless plug-and-play camera integration, compatible with select manufacturers. This method requires only plugging the camera into a router for easy cloud migration and installation, with no need for port forwarding. The Push Module creates a secure, encrypted tunnel between the camera and cloud, ensuring data protection with AES 256 encryption.
Pros:
· Simple plug-and-play setup
· Secure, reliable connection with no intermediate servers or port forwarding
· Supports various camera models
· Optimized for edge analytics without overheating
· No IT expertise needed for installation
Cons:
· Available as an add-on, not all camera models are compatible (compatibility list expanding)
ONVIF and RTSP Connection
Cameras supporting ONVIF or RTSP can be connected using their respective protocols. ONVIF devices can be added via URL (requiring port forwarding) or using the Registration Code method if the camera is Push-enabled. RTSP cameras can be connected through a similar process.
Pros:
· Supports any RTSP or RTMP stream-capable device with H.264
Cons:
· Requires port forwarding unless using the Registration Code method
· Relies on camera security features, with no additional protection unless using the Registration
Code method
· Setup may require technical expertise unless using the Gateway
Gateway Connection
The Starllion Cloud Gateway device provides a simple and secure way to connect cameras to the cloud, bypassing port forwarding through an encrypted tunnel. It automatically reconnects if the ISP changes the IP, ensuring continuous operation.
Pros:
· Fast, convenient cloud connection for any camera
· Secure encrypted tunnel bypassing port forwarding
· Automatic reconnection in case of ISP IP changes
· Easy setup, no technical knowledge required
· Pre-installed, ready-to-use software
· Quick camera discovery and addition via ONVIF or manual registration
Our Plug and Play technology create an encrypted secure tunnel between the camera and the system, enabling seamless connection to cloud servers without the need to open ports or configure port forwarding rules.
Starllion Cloud provide low latency WebRTC streaming.
Create stunning videos of any project using the timelapse feature. The long-term timelapse option captures every stage of a project, regardless of its duration. Whether the project lasts a few weeks or spans several years, the timelapse feature allows for continuous progress review, with the ability to download the full video at any point during or after completion. It also provides an easy way to monitor the project and share it with others.
Note: Currently, timelapses can only be activated by our team. Future updates will enable setup through the admin portal.
There is no limit to the number of cameras that can be added to the system.
Video walls are supported, allowing multiple monitors with various layouts to be connected simultaneously. The main limitations are the computer's capabilities and available bandwidth. To view 32 or more video streams at once, a dedicated graphics card, a minimum of 16 GB of RAM, and a high-performance CPU are required.
Permissions can be set individually for each user. For example, owners can be granted access to view, share, and edit cameras, while security guards can be restricted to viewing cameras only, with no other permissions.
The Plug and Play method offer the most secure and reliable way to connect cameras to the system. With this method, the data stream is encrypted and tunneled directly to the servers, eliminating the need for port forwarding configuration.
All customers are notified when new features are added, and training is provided if necessary.
Amazon AWS has servers globally, and custom plans can be created to store data exclusively on AWS servers in a specific country. For additional flexibility, hybrid setups are available, allowing the use of client-owned data servers alongside AWS infrastructure.
Starllion Cloud’s Push Module enables IP cameras and NVRs to connect directly to the cloud, offering a secure, reliable setup without the need for complex network configurations. Unlike P2P servers, the Push Module avoids security risks from port forwarding and third-party servers. It streams over TCP 443, bypassing ISP port-blocking issues.
Installation is quick and simple, requiring no IT expertise. Cameras are added to the Starllion Cloud admin portal in under a minute, making it ideal for large-scale installations and easy site migrations. Once connected to the internet, cameras instantly appear in the video portal, ready for use.

in Admin Portal
The confidence slider in the Admin portal controls alerts sent via email, push notifications, or Webhooks. To use it, the camera must have an Analytics plan (Pay as You Go+Analytics or Fixed+Analytics). In the camera settings, enable Object Detection Analytics. This feature detects and classifies objects by type, color, size, and position, and only logs objects that meet the overlap condition (25%) with the area of interest.
The slider determines when an alert is triggered, based on the AI’s confidence that the detected object matches the selected type. It does not affect object detection sensitivity, which remains fixed at a 25% confidence threshold.
in Video Portal
In the Video Portal, access the Event Menu via the bell icon. Use the Filter Option to select specific objects, cameras, or dates, then adjust the confidence slider to filter events based on the set threshold. Objects with lower confidence will be hidden.
Changes made in the Video Portal do not affect the Admin portal, alerts, or other users. The slider resets to 50 when logging out or closing the portal.
Starllion Cloud is a cloud-based platform that leverages built-in browser technologies for video streaming. H.264 is the preferred standard for streaming in browsers like Chrome, as it can be natively decoded on virtually any device. This makes H.264 highly compatible and optimized for cloud-based surveillance applications, eliminating the need for extra plugins or software installations.
While H.265 offers better compression, it is not yet widely supported by browsers and requires more processing power, which can strain devices and networks, especially in high-volume or complex video environments. H.264 remains the most widely supported and resource-efficient option, ensuring compatibility across a broad range of devices.
For most cameras, Starllion Cloud automatically converts streams to H.264. However, for some models, users may need to manually switch from H.265 to H.264 through the camera’s web UI. When selecting the camera stream profile in the Quality tab, Starllion Cloud will attempt to convert the stream to H.264.
If video feed issues arise, such as a "Video Offline" status in the portal, it may indicate that the system couldn’t automatically convert the stream. In this case, users should manually change the codec to H.264 via the camera’s Troubleshooting tab.
In Summary, while H.265 provides superior compression, H.264 continues to be the gold standard for video surveillance due to its lower resource demands and widespread device compatibility, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance for cloud-based applications.
